This is now the ONLY Card drive that is available that works in the MPC2000XL.

Firstly, check that your MPC has the correct internal software to make it work with a flash drive. To do this press ‘Shift + Other’ then press F3 (VER.) You need V1.2 for this. If you have a lower version you’ll need to download the latest version from here.

Expand or unzip the downloaded .zip archive using winzip or similar, and put the resulting .bin file onto a PC formatted floppy disk. Load the .bin file like you would anything else from the floppy drive on your MPC2000XL. This will then update your internal software on the MPC2000XL to v1.2

These card drives come with an IDE ribbon cable that has an integrated power connection.

You do NOT need a separate power cable to make it work.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. A flash card MUST be present in the drive at switch on, otherwise the MPC2000XL will NOT recognise the drive, even if you put a card in after switching on.

2. You should NOT change the cards while the MPC2000XL is switched on (i.e. HOT SWAP).
